First-year class profile
UC annually publishes data about the previous admission cycle. Please be cautious in drawing conclusions from this information. The numbers are useful only as a general guide to selectivity and not as a predictor of a student's chances for admission to a particular campus.
Four key factors to keep in mind about first-year applicant profiles
The data reflect the selection process for fall 2024 applicants. The applicant pool and selection process may vary from year to year; therefore the results may differ significantly.
Data for several colleges on a campus are grouped together, which masks the differences in the degree of competition for admission among them. Some campuses and colleges admit students directly into individual majors, and the degree of competition among majors may vary widely.
GPA is defined as a student's GPA in the A-G requirements as calculated by UC. The average high school GPA listed for each campus is computed from 10th and 11th grade coursework, including up to eight semesters of honors courses (no more than four from 10th grade). These GPAs are drawn from application data at the systemwide admissions office.
These data are preliminary, as of June 2024. Some campuses admitted students after that date, which may affect their statistics.
