Merced

Junior-level transfer applicants from California community colleges receive highest priority. To be a competitive candidate for admission, you must be well prepared with coursework in your intended major.

All majors at UC Merced require that applicants complete required prerequisite courses with specified GPAs by the end of the spring term prior to fall admission. Prerequisite courses completed for an applicant’s major must be taken for a letter grade with no grade less than C.

Students are selected on the basis of academic preparation. All applicants to the School of Engineering must have a minimum overall transferable GPA of 2.4, and complete the required preparatory coursework for their major.
